The Calgary Film Commission and the Edmonton Screen Industries Office in partnership with Access Canada are proud to announce the launch of 6 new cohorts of the Alberta Producer Accelerator (APA) Program, taking place over the next 3 years
The APA Program: Scripted Television will offer training, one-to-one mentorship, and access to key decision makers for up to ten selected television producers. Each finalist will submit a specific scripted television project to develop throughout the program. The six-week curriculum is comprised of weekly mentorship sessions, industry expert-led online master classes, courses, and assignments designed to further develop the finalists’ respective project. The course culminates in vital one-on-one pitch opportunities to sell the content they have developed to national and international decision makers in the entertainment industry.
The APA Program is open to producers with a registered Alberta business, who have worked in the industry for 3+years. Applicants must have a scripted television project in development with a minimum of a completed script and synopsis.
As well, and of equal importance, finalist candidates must be able to commit to creating an inclusive and diverse environment, as well as managing their schedules to attend the mandatory courses, take meetings, and complete the work necessary to successfully sell their project.
All scripted television series will be accepted, except for Kids programming. We are not accepting Kids programming at this time.
APPLICANTS MUST BE ABLE TO COMMIT TO THE MANDATORY COURSE CURRICULUM, TAKING PLACE ONLINE TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS BETWEEN 4 – 8 pm MT (timing may vary course-to-course).
